Starting somewhere

I will admit, my blogging has been subpar over the past six months.  I have been less than inspired to continually keep up with this, but I know once I start I tend to enjoy sharing the pictures that are just sitting on my computer.  I have weddings to reveal, engagements to share, and a variety of other events I'm DYING to post.  But today... I need to just share some of my life with the world.

Over the past few months I have graduated from college, photographed 3 weddings, was a bridesmaid in my roommate's beautiful wedding, moved home (temporarily or permanently? not sure), passed my nursing boards (therefore officially becoming Hannah Kurtz, BSN RN!), started a new job that requires quite the commute, and enjoyed time with my family and friends amidst it all. In the next six months, I will continue to work as a nurse, will watch my brother get married to the love of his life, along with some other close friends who are tying the knot shortly after, photograph a few more weddings, and hopefully continue to embrace the beautiful life God has given me.

Lastnight I went to visit my great friend Tiffany with her sister Brittany and my sister Kait.  Tiff is approximately 34 weeks pregnant with TWINS... twin boys--Vincent & Ivan.  We had a great time--chatting, laughing, EATING on the roof of her apartment.  These ladies are all amazing and bring nothing but good things into my life.

She makes this look easy.

Love these two sisters and their friendship.

Those baby kicks are NO JOKE.

Another Sisters Post

What is it about sisters?
I have three.
All three of them are equally and uniquely beautiful.
And I seriously cannot get enough of them.
One of them (not pictured here) is studying abroad in Chile until July.
I will leave with my best friend to visit her in 15 days.
Talk about an adventure of a lifetime.
Scary? Yes. Exciting? Even more so.
I cannot wait.
2012 has already been a year of blessings for me.

"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever."
Psalm 23:6

Be blessed today.

RubyMae Louise

Wow. I don't even want to know the last time I posted. I really regret how behind I am on blogging all the beautiful weddings I photographed last year, as well as other engagements, family shoots, etc... I wish I had a good excuse.

This past month has been an absolute whirlwind. January tends to be a crazy month every year. I might have spent last January in New Zealand, but this one has been far different. And though it probably doesn't sound half as appealing on paper or in pictures, it was one of the best months of my life. The month I sometimes thought I wouldn't make it to, the month I desperately wanted to be over before it happened, but somehow the best.

I finally made it to my Senior Practicum. For most, it might feel like "just another step" in their education. For me, it was the highlight of my career as a nursing student. I managed to sign up for a unit that I never once thought I would picture myself working in: The ER. I can't say I really fit the "high-energy, type A" personality the stereotypical ER nurse has. But apparently the ER needs other types of nurses, as well. Even though it was the unit I would not have picked for myself, God knew what He was doing when he landed me there for this past month. It has LITERALLY been a dream come true: full of challenges, but a dream come true.

Another highlight of my January was seeing this little one just minutes after she was born (I had fully intended on watching her come into the world, but she had other plans).

6 lbs, 3 oz and just perfect.
Watching her siblings (Jacob, Maggie, Simon & Owen) meet her for the first time was priceless.
I heard everything from "We just cannot BELIEVE we have a baby SISTER!"
To "Ruby is just so cute. I love her already."
Can you believe this was Owen just two years ago?
