Wow. I don't even want to know the last time I posted. I really regret how behind I am on blogging all the beautiful weddings I photographed last year, as well as other engagements, family shoots, etc... I wish I had a good excuse.
This past month has been an absolute whirlwind. January tends to be a crazy month every year. I might have spent last January in
New Zealand, but this one has been far different. And though it probably doesn't sound half as appealing on paper or in pictures, it was one of the best months of my life. The month I sometimes thought I wouldn't make it to, the month I desperately wanted to be over before it happened, but somehow the best.
I finally made it to my Senior Practicum. For most, it might feel like "just another step" in their education. For me, it was the highlight of my career as a nursing student. I managed to sign up for a unit that I never once thought I would picture myself working in: The ER. I can't say I really fit the "high-energy, type A" personality the stereotypical ER nurse has. But apparently the ER needs other types of nurses, as well. Even though it was the unit I would not have picked for myself, God knew what He was doing when he landed me there for this past month. It has LITERALLY been a dream come true: full of challenges, but a dream come true.
Another highlight of my January was seeing this little one just minutes after she was born (I had fully intended on watching her come into the world, but she had other plans).

6 lbs, 3 oz and just perfect. |
Watching her siblings (Jacob, Maggie, Simon & Owen) meet her for the first time was priceless.
I heard everything from "We just cannot BELIEVE we have a baby SISTER!"
To "Ruby is just so cute. I love her already."
Can you believe
this was Owen just two years ago?
